The Challenge

For every new building project, specialist consultants manually review architectural plans against hundreds of regulatory requirements, cross-referencing escape routes, fire resistance ratings, compartmentation rules, and more across the full scope of Irish Building Regulations (TGD-B 2024).
Each compliance report consumed significant manual effort. Repetitive, necessary and creating a bottleneck that limited how many projects the team could take on. Experts were spending most of their time on analysis that, with the right technology, didn't need to be manual.

Our Approach
Working with Enablis, ORS built an AI-powered compliance platform, the ORS AI Hub, with fire safety as its first module. The platform analyses uploaded building floor plans against all eight sections of TGD-B 2024 and generates comprehensive draft compliance reports.
The expert stays in control throughout. Engineers upload plans, the AI extracts and interprets building data, and a human checkpoint allows the user to verify the AI's understanding before any compliance assessment runs. The system then evaluates over 400 individual regulatory requirements in parallel and produces a detailed report.
