Job description
The Technical Delivery Director (TDD) role combines providing an elite client facing technology delivery position with being a key part of the team which shapes strategy, energises communities and drives growth across the company.
A TDD may be an expert in engineering, delivery, business analysis or any other core discipline which they act as a figurehead and exemplar for. They will usually be the most senior person on an engagement and take accountability to ensure that all aspects – delivery quality, client happiness, staff satisfaction, commercial diligence – are satisfactorily managed by the team. A TDD is encouraged and supported to take a positive and proactive approach to engagement management; making sure the client feels special, that successes are celebrated and that our people are proud of their achievements.
A TDD is part of the senior leadership team working with the CCO and CTO to drive and execute strategies from creating great workplaces and people experience through to spotting and pursuing commercial opportunities. Innovation, creativity and bravery are encouraged.
Clients & Delivery
- Fulfil a hands-on core discipline – engineering, delivery, business analysis or any other key specialism – on a full time basis for a client.
- Help to drive technology choices, ways of working and team culture to be in line with our values, enlisting the support of other experts where necessary.
- Own and cultivate the most senior client/sponsor relationships to ensure we stay close and aware of their biggest hopes and fears.
- Take accountability for ensuring that all aspects of the client engagement are in good health, monitoring delivery quality, client/staff happiness and commercial hygiene.
- Make sure we adequately contribute to the client’s own governance processes, representing risks and issues so that they are well informed and we are protected.
- Work proactively to energise the relationship, both for the client and our people, by recognising the significance of major events and celebrating successes.
People & Communities
- Provide pastoral care and first line guidance for consultants on your team.
- Help to define career pathway support for those in your specialist area including role definitions, best practice guidelines, recommended training and accreditations.
- Play a primary role in driving community activity in your core discipline, acting as a cheerleader through your contribution to channels, forums and meet-ups.
- Maintain an active and visible presence across workplaces and at events.
- Take a creative and innovative approach to making our workplaces fun, vibrant and energising locations which our people and our clients love to be.
Growing the Business
- Contribute to strategic planning activities and own the growth plan for your primary engagement, developing relationships and seeking opportunities.
- Play an active role in identifying and pursuing new logo business opportunities whether through private networks, events, bidding frameworks or public tenders.
- Act as a brand ambassador to attract talent from within your personal network and beyond as well as contributing more directly through screening and interviewing.

Operational Diligence
- Ensure that the engagement is represented in our governance processes, enabling information sharing, peer support and escalation where outside help is beneficial.
- Make sure that the scope, duration and renewal of legal agreements is sufficient to sustain and grow the workforce in line with company forecasts and recruitment.
- Oversee that basic commercial hygiene – timesheet submission, renewals being signed, invoicing – runs smoothly and support the business where it falls down.
