Job description
The Senior Cloud Security Architect role combines deep security expertise with cloud architecture capabilities to design and implement secure, scalable solutions for our clients.
As a key member of cross-functional teams, the Senior Cloud Security Architect is responsible for ensuring security is embedded throughout the entire solution lifecycle, from initial architecture through to operational management. They must bridge the gap between modern cloud-native approaches and enterprise security requirements, working closely with clients to understand their risk appetite and compliance needs. While technical leadership is their primary focus, they are expected to maintain hands-on capabilities and stay current with emerging security threats and mitigation strategies. The Senior Cloud Security Architect will often work alongside cloud engineers and developers, however, as a consultant, they must be comfortable directly engaging with stakeholders at all levels to articulate security principles and drive adoption of best practices.
In addition to their teammates, the Senior Cloud Security Architect is supported by our engineering and delivery communities which enable them to leverage the skills and experience of a wider set of practitioners.
Key Skills
- Strong expertise in cloud security across major platforms e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Experience designing secure cloud architectures and implementing security controls.
- Understanding of security frameworks, standards and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization patterns.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and security automation.
- Knowledge of modern, cloud native, tech stacks.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools.
- Experience with threat modelling and risk assessment.
- Understanding of network security and zero trust principles.
- Capability in security testing and vulnerability assessment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to balance security requirements with business objectives.
- Experience mentoring teams on security best practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to embrace complexity and uncertainty.
- An analytical mind and good attention to detail.
